Why I built Product Sphere
(and my commitment to you)
Hello there, James here.
Product Sphere is where I invest most of my own time.
I navigated much of my career alone. Nobody ever cared as much about my growth as I did. Many managers served as roadblocks rather than accelerators for my career. Most of my peers were in the same situation…but could we have achieved more if we banded together?
Product Sphere has become that peer group.
This is a place for Product Managers to share notes and grow together. The craft continues to change so quickly that going it alone is no longer enough.
Product Sphere is dedicated to helping Product Managers grow—but even if you can’t check in every day, my goal is to provide deep insights and guidance that make this well worth the investment.

I’ve sat on countless hiring & promotion panels for numerous roles in tech across the United States and Europe. I’ve even trained others how to interview and provide calibrated, effective feedback.

Product Sphere is designed to be small and I plan to keep it that way. Right now, we’re under 50 members.
I’ve been a part of many large communities—and there are a lot of great things about them.
However, it’s too easy to lose closeness to the community as it grows. I’m purposefully keeping Product Sphere small. This will allow me to invest more of MY time in fewer people and gives me the time and space to continue creating resources that help Product Managers.
We review new members carefully and only invite a few new members per month.
This process ensures that members are a great fit for our values, and for YOUR goals. We also want to integrate new members comfortably.
We consider Product Managers of all levels.
We’ll occasionally take other factors into account, too.
